About Our Clinic:
Puget Sound Physical Therapy is a locally owned and operated full-service rehabilitation clinic. We proudly serve Lacey, Hawks Prairie, Olympia, and the surrounding area. Under the direction of Chris Dickerson, DPT, our newly constructed facility has been designed to meet the specific needs of our patients. At Puget Sound Physical Therapy, we are dedicated to patient-centered rehabilitation that can help you get back to the activities you enjoy.
Meet Chris Dickerson, DPT, OCS:
Chris is the owner of Puget Sound Physical Therapy. Chris was born and raised in Thurston County. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science, and was then accepted into UPS’s physical therapy program. In 2012, he was awarded his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Chris has been a practicing therapist in Thurston County since his graduation, where many of his patients fondly recognize him from his years at the Lacey Safeway while he was working his way through college.
From the beginning of his career, Chris has recognized the benefits of manual therapy, a specialized area of physical therapy for the management of musculoskeletal conditions and making use of specific hands-on techniques and therapeutic exercises. In 2015, Chris was accepted for admission into an orthopedic manual therapy fellowship with the educational institution Evidence in Motion. Through this continued education, as well as years of work experience, he has progressed as a clinician skilled in the evidence-based integration of advanced manual therapy techniques to become a leader in clinical practice. In 2017, Chris was awarded board certification as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
When not treating patients, Chris teaches courses related to orthopaedic physical therapy, and enjoys baseball, martial arts, and live music.
Meet Steven Roach, DPT:
Steven Roach is a staff physical therapist at Puget Sound Physical Therapy. He was born and raised in Thurston County, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Southern California in 2013, with a concentration in Applied Physiology. After working for a year as a physical therapy aide, Steven matriculated into Columbia University’s Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program, graduating in 2017.
Steven has always loved sports and sports medicine and pursued various educational opportunities from high school through graduate school to develop his knowledge. He seeks to empower his patients to heal themselves at home through specific exercise planning and provides hands-on manual therapy techniques to supplement the rehabilitation process. Steven is currently pursuing an orthopedic manual therapy residency through industry leader Evidence in Motion, which will enhance his success with targeted interventions and help his patients get back to their best.
On the weekends, you’ll find Steven outdoors–hiking, hunting, fishing, and exploring the world.
